The path that packets may take depends on the routes that are established by the routing protocols. It will be influenced by various parameters such as the radio range of the devices, Channel Characteristics, Transport layer protocol etc. Understanding and verifying the path that packets take can be easily done using NetSim Packet Trace log file. To understand this better, please refer Section 8.4 of Netsim User Manual, which is present under Documentation in NetSim home screen:
