NetSim provides Plots feature using which users can obtain link throughput plots for Wired/Wireless links and application throughput plots for each application that is configured. Users will have to enable Plots before running the simulation using the Plots Icon as shown below:

  • Upon clicking on the Plots icon Enable Plots window will appear as shown below:
  • By default, all links and applications that are configured in the network will be selected. Users can choose to modify the selection to obtain plots only for specific links/applications. Click on ok after making changes if any to enable Plots.
  • After running the simulation with either Record Animation or Play & record animation options selected, NetSim Packet Animation window appears either after or during the simulation respectively as shown below:
  • Note that the packet trace table will be displayed alongside animation, only if packet trace feature was enabled before running the simulation.
  • The View More Animation options present in the Animation window can be used to display Plots alongside animation.
  • Upon enabling Link throughput, a Link Throughput plot window appears as shown below:

  • This window can be moved and docked optionally in the NetSim Packet Animation window to conveniently view packet animation and the plots side by side as shown below(Dock guides will appear as you move the plot window over the animator window, you can drop the mouse pointer over the highlighted locations to dock):

  • Following is a screenshot of NetSim Packet Animator window with a link throughput plot window docked to it:
  • Upon clicking on play animation button users can see Dynamic plots alongside packet flow as shown below:
