Applicable Releases | v11 | v12 |
The following error message may be shown when running a network simulation
This could be due to several reasons:
1. NetSim Simulation console was manually closed by the user before the simulation is complete.
2. Simulation Process terminated by Security/Antivirus tools.
3. Missing binaries in the current NetSim workspace. This can be due to several reasons:
- Workspace creation incomplete due to insufficient disc space.
- Workspace creation process terminated before completion by Security/Antivirus tools.
- Binaries in the NetSim workspace were removed/deleted by the user.
- Binaries in the NetSim workspace were removed/deleted by Security/Antivirus tools.
Troubleshooting issues related to Security/Antivirus tools:
Security/Antivirus tools may falsely detect NetSim process/binaries as malicious and may terminate the process or remove binaries from the workspace location.
NetSim installation directory path, workspace directory path, and the binaries inside them can be added to the exception list of the security/Antivirus tools to resolve this issue.
In case of missing binaries in the installation directory of NetSim, reinstallation of NetSim either manually or using silent install is recommended.
In case of missing binaries in the workspace location,
- If this is the default workspace, the workspace folder can be renamed after closing NetSim. Following this when NetSim is started, a new default workspace will be created with all the binaries. After this the experiments if any that were already saved to the default workspace can be imported one by one into the newly created workspace. In case of any custom code changes done to the source codes of the default workspace, it is recommended that you write to [email protected] to safely port the source codes and modified binaries.
- If the workspace is a user created workspace, rename the workspace after closing NetSim. Open NetSim and delete the workspace entry from the workspace list. Create a new workspace and then import the experiments if any that were previously saved into the newly created workspace, one by one. In case of any custom code changes done to the source codes of the user created workspace, it is recommended that you write to [email protected] to safely port the source codes and modified binaries.
