Applicable Releasesv13.0

  1. User modified parameters will not reflect in newly dropped devices: After dropping nodes on the environment, modification of protocols/ global properties (like Physical Layer parameters, Data Link Layer parameters, and others) in one node will reflect in all other nodes. However, after modification, if any new node is dropped, the modifications will not reflect in the newly dropped nodes.
    • Solution: After dropping new nodes, open the properties of any previously dropped wireless node and click accept
  2. Device real IP & Destination real IP validation is not perfect in Unicast, Multicast & Broadcast emulation.
  3. The packet size limit in TDMA (Military Radio): High packet sizes will lead to zero throughputs.  Max Packet Size = (Time_Slot_Block_Size*Slot_Duration*Data_Rate) / 8 where SLOT_DURATION is in millisecond and DATA_RATE = 25kbps.
  4. Antivirus software may identify NetSimSimulation.exe as malicious and block or remove it from the NetSim install directory. Exceptions will have to be added to avoid this.
  5. Up-link Speed and Downlink Speed are independent parameters and need to be configured individually.
  6. If Zigbee and WLAN are configured together in the same network, then the animation for the battery model does not work correctly and may lead to unexpected behavior.
  7. DSR is not designed to work with ICMP, VLAN, etc. Hence users cannot set ICMP, VLAN, etc when running simulations involving MANETs connected to wired networks.
  8.  Animation over map view requires the user to do.
    • A single click on the map to load the devices.
    • The map loads India by default. The user will have to move the map to the location where devices were placed.
    • Wireless node movement may not be accurate.
  9. The very first-time Emulation is run after installation, the user may see the error "NetSim couldn't find either of Windivert32.sys or Windivert64.sys files of Windows Packet Divert (WinDivert) and further throwing the ERROR_CODE (2) - File not found"
  10. Bridge nodes in MANET do not support ZRP and OLSR protocols.
  11. Issues related to Emulation Ping – getting the console.
  12. 32 bit and 64-bit setup results are not matching.
  13. Zero throughput for Point to point and serial connection scenario in TDMA Radio Network
  14. In cognitive radio networks, the Ethernet interface of CR_base_station is disappearing through open simulation when clicked on the reset button.
  15. Antivirus issue
    • Norton and K7 Total security are blocking NetSim.exe, NetSim Setup, Uninst.exe
    • Trend Micro detecting simulation.exe, uninstall.exe
    • Avast is blocking Checksum.txt while creating the default workspace it won't allow to create a workspace.
  16. In any network, zoom then create any scenario and run simulation the scroll bar & Toolbar options are disappearing.
  17. The Congestion Plot Replot option is not working.
  18. In an IoT network, if packet capture is enabled in a destination node that receives packets from a sensor via the 6LoWPAN Gateway and Router, the source IP address is invalid. It is usually similar to "0.0.0.x" Eg: 0.0.0.78
  19. Multicast Emulation is zero throughputs when the scenario is created with L3 Switch.
  20. Rate adaptation Minstrel data table is not writing in metrics window For IEEE 802.11 ac with n, ac with ac, n with ac & n with n.
  21. In IoT if the application is In-between Sensor and Wireless node, displaying the error as "Animation is not yet started. So, function call animation_add_new_entry is not valid" and in animation window no battery power for the sensor.
  22. Create a scenario in Mobile Adhoc Network with multiple manet and Bridge nodes, if we enable ICMP in all devices, the Scenario is crashing.
  23. The RIP routing protocol is not working when 5 routers are considered.
  24. When we use Queuing type as RED/WRED It is a Possible crash/erroneous result when Simulation is running.
  25. The scenario is crashing when both voice and video application is considered with RTP protocol selected.
  26. Users may see a small difference in latency between v12.2 and v13.0 simulations involving the L3 switch.
  27. Licensing. NetSim crash with the error message that License denied (netsim_std_na, netsim_std_extra) can occur in rare cases. Please contact NetSim support who will resolve with a workaround (replace the rlm1402 and rlm1402_x64 with rlm1122 and rlm1122_x64 and rename the rlm1122 DLLs)
  28. In case of errors in frame aggregation 802.11n, packet re-transmission occurs only if the first packet of the aggregated frame is errored. If any of the subsequent packets are errored, re-transmission doesn't occur.
