When multiple users share a system for working on their projects following difficulties may arise:

  • Conflict in source code modification
  • Manual Backing up source codes to avoid overwriting the master copy.
  • Manual linking of modified binaries with the simulation process.
  • Manual reset of binaries and code.
  • Frequent unexpected simulation crash due to a large number of steps and procedures.
  • Need to reinstall the software to get the original copy of the source codes if overwritten.

NetSim workspace solves these problems

  • A NetSim Workspace can be considered as a folder/storage where experiments can be saved.
  • A Workspace contains NetSim protocol binaries, icons, experiments, source codes (not in academic version), and other data files.
  • Multiple users can share a system by creating an individual workspace to share the licenses.
  • Code modifications done in one workspace will not affect the others.
  • Multiple workspaces can be created in the same system to isolate the source codes of different projects. Whenever a new workspace is created, a fresh copy of the protocol source codes will be created.
  • Up to 500 Workspaces can be created for NetSim.
  • Up to 1000 experiments can be saved under a workspace.
  • The workspace also comes with options that provide one-click access to source codes, auto-link code modifications to simulation kernel and reset codes and binaries.
  • Allows export/import of experiments within a workspace and entire the workspace itself.
